RANGA (Mk1 #10)

This one was not with me for long, I loved it but sold it as we didn't have enough space, then the guy I sold it too killed it :'( Man I wish I had kept it... 

A mate found it in a small wrecking yard for just $600.

I just love the colour!

It was crazy clean all things considered, so we went halves in the cost and took it home :)

God knows how long it had been since a water change but what came out of the cooling system was a pretty good colour match for the paint haha!

Avril in the background <3 This was back when she was our daily drive.

It had a little 1.6 four speed and it all worked quite well once we got it started.

The guy I bought it with took the chrome bumpers and I took the rest of the car home.

This is where the story makes a turn for the worse :(

I put plastic bumpers on it, a new battery and a bunch of small parts to get it fixed up.

As I said we just didn't have room so I sold it to a guy I worked with. It had a small water leak so I told him to bring it around and I would help him fix it up. Weeks passed and I kept reminding him to bring it around so we could fix the leak. At one stage he told me how amazing it was for how long it ran... without overheating with no water in it :/

Again I told him to bring it around but he never did. A few weeks later I caught up with him and he told me he'd scrapped it as I sold him a busted car and he blamed me for what went wrong with it. The idiot had been driving it around with no water in the cooling system and hardly any oil in it either, so no surprise when the engine seized up. Some people have no idea.

Anyway a month or two later I found what was left of Ranga at a scrapyard, already partially stripped. I saved what I could but unfortunately this guy killed a perfectly good car because he was too lazy to drive to my house for some free parts :(
