SPANKY PANTS (Mk1 #4)

With Nugget pretty much dead we needed a new daily and we found this little Mars Red number up in the hills on a farm, once again we had to have her :)

This old girl was our daily drive for a couple of years, yeah she was rough but both Becky and I agree that out of all our mk1's, Spanky was one of our all time favourites.

The only car accident I've had that was my fault saw Spanky take a Mitsubishi Outlander to the face and live, and we found bog under there... who knew haha.

Under the bonnet was a monster stock 1.6 4 speed. I deleted the old air box and replaced it with a sexy K&N pod filter, held in place by trusty cable ties. Also given the bay was brown we were pretty confident she was not always a red car :p

Standard mk1 dash, we'd seen much worse and nothing a dash mat couldn't fix.

Brown and tan seats in a red car... yeah right :/

One of the best parts was the rag top, way too easy to break into but great on summer nights.

The downside of course was the way it never sealed properly along the front edge, whenever it rained we always ended up with wet legs.

Not long after the prang to the front this happened...
